An arcade game where typing is the weapon. Words drift down, you type them, they explode.
Play KeywraithKeywraith is a free game that runs in your web browser. You are a spell-slinger at the bottom of a dark arena. Enemies drift down toward you, each carrying a word. The first letter you press locks onto the most urgent matching enemy, every letter after that fires a shot at it, and finishing the word destroys it.
There is no text box to click into and no typing lesson. You just type, and things explode. It is a typing game in the sense that a rhythm game is a music game — the skill is real, but the point is the arcade.
A physical keyboard is required, so it is a desktop or laptop game. There are three paces, six handcrafted campaign levels, and a daily challenge that is the same for everyone on a given day.
Nothing, and nothing. Keywraith is free, has no advertisements, sells nothing, and needs no installation or account. Every level and every cosmetic is available from the first time you load it — nothing is locked behind progress or payment.
You never have to sign in. The entire game — every level, the daily challenge, all your progress — works without an account, saved in your own browser.
If you choose to sign in with Google, two things are added: your progress syncs between devices, and your finished runs can appear on a public leaderboard under your display name. That is all it is used for. The game never records what you type — only aggregate counts of how many letters were right and wrong.
