Keywraith is a free browser game. This policy describes exactly what it collects, what it deliberately does not, and how to have your data removed. It is written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, and it describes the software as actually built.
The short version. If you do not sign in, nothing about your play leaves your browser. If you do sign in, we store your game progress and your scores, and nothing else. The game never records what you type.
Your progress — settings, unlocked cosmetics, best scores, achievements — is saved in your own browser's local storage. It is never transmitted anywhere, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently, and we have no copy.
The site records two aggregate measurements through Vercel: page views (Vercel Analytics), which counts how many people visit which pages, and page performance (Vercel Speed Insights), which measures how quickly the game loads and responds. Neither identifies you, neither sees anything about your play, and neither is used to track you across other websites.
Signing in is entirely optional. The game works fully without it. If you do sign in:
If you sign in and finish a run, your display name, score, wave and words per minute may appear on the public leaderboard, visible to anyone. Your email address is never shown. If you would rather not appear, do not sign in — every part of the game works without an account.
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
Signing in stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in between visits. Your game save is stored in local storage. Both are functional, not advertising, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Data associated with your account is kept until you remove it. You can do that yourself at any time, in the game: Settings → Account → Delete account data. It asks once, then permanently deletes your profile, your synced progress and every leaderboard entry. It cannot be undone.
Progress already saved in your own browser is left alone, and signing in again simply starts a fresh account. If you would rather ask us to do it, email whcloud91@gmail.com from the address you signed in with.
You can also stop at any time simply by signing out. The game continues to work, using local storage only.
Keywraith is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has signed in, email the address above and the account will be removed.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what is collected will be announced on the site itself rather than made quietly.
